A multi-purpose centre

The Cittadella offers comfort to young cancer patients, the elderly, young offenders, the disabled and many others with a pathway of physical and spiritual rebirth, in the arms of faith and medicine.

Drapia, the promised land

This small town in the province of Vibo Valentia, Calabria, was chosen by Padre Pio for its particular soil, vegetation and water.

The team of professionals

Architects, engineers, agronomists, doctors, researchers, lawyers, accountants or simple activists are supporting the project voluntarily, to be part of this great endeavour, led by the foundation “I Discepoli di Padre Pio”.

She has always been devoted to the care of the poor and the suffering, driven by unconditional charity and by everlasting love for Jesus and by her ongoing dialogue with Padre Pio.

The Disciples of Padre Pio

The Catholic movement founded by Irene Gaeta to spread the spirituality and teachings of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina and to provide comfort, hope and faith in the future. The movement is recognised by the Church as a Private Association of the Faithful by decree no. 73/03 and as a Religion and Worship Foundation by decree no. 84/03, both signed by Cardinal Camillo Ruini, Vicar General of His Holiness John Paul II in the diocese of Rome.

An ongoing mission of faith

To pursue its goals and carry out major works for the suffering and people in difficulty, like the Cittadella di Padre Pio, the movement has set up an association “I Discepoli di Padre Pio” (The Disciples of Padre Pio) in accordance with the Italian civil code and Presidential decree no. 361 of 10 February 2000, and is listed on the register of legal entitles of the Rome Prefecture.
